NORTHEAST INDIANA AREA

Northeast Indiana is the crossroads of the Midwest and offers easy access to many surrounding attractions. The area offers various lifestyles depending on the community you choose. I can show you everything from a small town feel, lake communities, or big city living. The Nucor Buildings Group, Group Services office is located in Waterloo, IN. There are three main nearby cities most teammates live:

  • Fort Wayne (Located in Allen County, about 20 minutes south of Waterloo)

  • Auburn (Located in DeKalb County, about 5 minutes south Waterloo)

  • Angola (Located in Steuben County, about 20 minutes north of Waterloo)

With its low cost of living and quiet neighborhoods, Northeast Indiana is an excellent place to live, buy a house, and raise children.  Located in the heart of the Midwest it is within a 2-3 hour drive of other major cities including Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland or Louisville. In addition, Fort Wayne was recently ranked as the #1 best place to live in Indiana and 40th overall in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

Auburn is located only a few minutes from the office and has a small town feel. I am proud to call Auburn home, a place I absolutely love, and where my children can be involved in lots of community activities. The schools are great and our town has a great sense of community. Auburn is known for its classic automobiles and massive car auction over Labor Day weekend. Downtown Auburn is also known as a charming day trip destination for shopping, local eateries, and friendly atmosphere.

Angola offers a small town feel and is located about 20-minutes  north of the office. It has a private college, Trine University, at the heart of the community. This is also where you will find lots of beautiful lake communities. If you enjoy lake living, state parks, and a college vibe then you will want to check out the Angola area. Angola is home to a new hockey and club volleyball facility.
